Welcome! Thanks for visiting my
vocal coaching page. Many of you may have visited my site before and read a bit about my vocal history.
I like to try to keep things fresh and new by updating my personal message, however, if you would like to read
previous personal messages you can go to current news/blog and check out past postings. Okay... so forward
I go! Fall is always a time for me to get organized with my personal goals as well as my physical space by
reflecting. I spent the summer installing hardwood floors in my two story Victorian Style home.
What a challenge that was. I had no idea exactly what I was getting into when I started. My naivety
bounced me into the project with total excitement and passion, for I love a good challenge and love to learn new
things. I ignored all the 'nay-say-ers' telling me to hire someone because I was in over my head. I
wanted to do it myself. Every night my aching body fell into bed with thoughts of miter saws, pneumatic floor
staplers, baseboards and cove moldings running through my head. I was on a steady diet of Pepsi and chocolate
bars trying to energize myself to keep going. (totally wrong...I know) I wanted to get it done no matter
what it took. I began to slow down. I was getting tired. I was getting frustrated and I was lonely.
I didn't want to do it by myself anymore. It wasn't fun. The hours turned into days, the days, weeks
and the weeks, months. I started to second guess my decision. I didn't know what I was doing.
It was hard work and I was exhausted. Now, you're probably wondering what any of this has to do with singing. Click to continue

Deanna's Vocal Tips
|
| Watch your posture when you are singing. If you are slouching,
the whole vocal mechanism can be affected. Over time, this can result in vocal fatigue and possible damage. Your
"power point" is between your ribs. Keep this area open with a flexible body. Yoga and pilates are great
forms of exercise to stay fit for singing. |

For individuals looking for private instruction Deanna Dubbin will tailor your lessons around your personal vocal
needs. Whether it's increasing your range, helping you with breath support, offering microphone techniques or heightening
your singing confidence, each lesson will address your own specific needs. Deanna will teach the student by discussing
their personal vocal concerns and goals, then set up an individualized program while helping the student with song
performances. All classes will be recorded onto cd so the student will have a record of their improvement as well
as reference to each class.

"Deanna has helped me to become a better singer and a more confidant Performer. Deanna is very kind person and makes you feel very comfortable.
She has helped me start performing outside my comfort zone so that I may explore different styles of music. She has also helped me to learn how to add my own style to my singing. I am so happy that I got to work with her.
Deanna has also helped me get over my stage fright and she has given me advice on auditions.
Thanks to Deanna I am a better Singer, performer and a more confidant person and for that I am very grateful."
Anna, 16 yrs old
"Deanna’s
exceptional communication skills are her biggest asset as a vocal coach. She has an amazing ear and is able to
expertly analyze where vocal improvements are required, and discuss how to consistently improve technique, tone,
mood, emotion in a way that is easy to understand and execute.
Deanna has an implicit comprehension of what makes a great singer and she is able to share her expertise and knowledge
in a positive and constructive way. Deanna always passes along a great deal of encouragement and her passion for
music and emotional expression is highly motivating. I find her approach very soothing and as a result am very
comfortable opening myself up in her presence, allowing me to sing to my full potential.
I have become a more self-aware student and I find that I am constantly running Deanna’s personalized advice through
my mind as I sing. Her functional knowledge has a way of sticking with you and I have greatly valued the contributions
she has made to my vocal career!
